Ethereum price falling hard, second largest exchange for ETH down during drop

Horrible crash and crippled traders, many are unable to sell ETH on during a huge down market.

For a short while the posted this on the error page:

Kraken is presently offline for unplanned maintenance to address this morning's intermittent connectivity issues.
Duration of downtime is presently unknown but it could be several hours. We will update this page and our Twitter feed when more information is available.
Rest assured that the connectivity issues are in no way related to any security incident. All funds are safe.
While maintenance is underway, the website and API will not be reachable, and orders will not be able to be placed or canceled. When the site comes back online, an announcement will be made and users will have time to modify orders before trading begins.
Thank you for your understanding and we look forwarding to bringing you an even more robust service after our downtime.

Site is slow or inaccessible for many clients. Sorry for the lag. We're working on it.

Recent issues have been tracked back to a change CloudFlare stealthily made to our account. Working with them now to rollback/resolve.

No compromise. CloudFlare issue. Some users may need to update their browsers to support SNI. IE/XP users may need to enable TLS 1.1/1.2

We'll be taking the site offline in a few minutes while we try to sort out the issues. Duration of downtime is unknown. Updates coming.

UPDATE 27 january 2016:

Kraken is back online again and prices seem to recover somewhat. Personally I have gotten my BTC and ETH safe in my private wallets now, see also this great advice: Some friendly advice from a veteran trader
